MEETING MINUTES

Meeting was held Sept 19th, at Goethe State Forest. There were a total of 9 adults and 3 youths present. Celia is still working on the pony sale and Cherry Wilson was confirmed to judge the March show; as of yet Sara Marshall has not agreed. Stallion Service Auction - reviewed contract - approved changes - revised copy enclosed. Please read and nominate your stallion. Money from auction to go to 50/50 scholarships for school, clinics, etc.

Year End Awards: Committee to decide on categories - Robbi Hoskins, Katie Shea and anyone else interested let them know. 

Logo: If you have an idea for a SWA logo please mail it to me. We will decide at the Oct. meeting. After we have a logo we will get T-shirts made.

Bill Black suggested we get a list of all Mobile PH.#’s to be printed in the directory. Let me know.

Highland Games: SWA would like to display a Board, provided by Celia, of a stallion showcase. Please submit an 11 x 14 photo. This wi11 also be used for the Stallion Auction.

FYI: Membership will run from the month you join for 1 year.  Dates are on your address label.

RAFFLES

Our big raffle is underway. We have a Half Welsh Gelding donated to us. So our Grand Prize will be the Gelding and First Prize will be a Miniature Western Saddle. There are also various Second Place prizes. Proceeds will go to the club and to Teri Heberling who is battling a very large brain tumor. She is 9 years old and the daughter of our club president. Any help you can give to sell tickets will be greatly appreciated. Tickets are $1.00 ea. or 7 for $5.00. Contact me or your local club member.

 SWA will also be holding 50/50 raffles at the meetings and Horse Shows. So be looking out for our tables.

 

Don't forget to look over the Stallion Service Auction Contract.  The sooner you nominate, the sooner we can advertise.

Southern Welsh Association Stallion Service Auction

1.     Stallion owner agrees to donate one breeding from his/her stallion to SWA. SWA in return sells the breeding to highest bidder. In return the stallion owner will receive one (1) free entry into the fall futurity, if breeding sells.

2.     The sale of stallion services will begin on October 1, 1999 at a minimum bid of 50% of advertised stud fee or $300 for Private Treaty, until June 16, 2000. Bids can be made by mail or in person. All breeding will be sold on a first come, first served basis. All bids must include a minimum deposit of ˝ of bid to be accepted. Bids will be sealed until Dec.31. At that time they will be opened. Any bid that is not accepted will have all deposit monies returned immediately. There is a minimum bid of $150 or whichever is greater.

3.     Stallion Owners are to supply pictures, stud fee and all guarantees. These may be displayed by the Club at the club shows.  Stallions can be showcased at the November show in hand or under saddle.

4.     If a participating stallion dies after his service is sold or the mare is bred, settled and loses her foal or has never been bred, the following rules apply:

·       The breeding contract between the mare owner and stallion owner will apply.

·       The mare owner of the purchased breeding will either choose another stallion breeding for the current or following year, (if a stallion is available) or money will be refunded.

5.     All contracts, guarantees, and mare care is between the stallion owner and mare owner.

6.   NO warranties are implied by SWA.


STALLION SERVICE AUCTION CONTRACT

This contract is between the Southern Welsh Association and the stallion owner                         , residing
